Igor Sergienko: Residents of Minsk Region Trust Deputies
With the most pressing issues, which sometimes remain unresolved for years, Belarusians go to their deputies. People are sure that the people’s representatives know how to listen and hear their requests, which means they will justify their trust. Help will definitely follow – but the problem will be solved much faster if the deputies and local authorities work together. The Chairman of the House of Representatives Igor Sergeyenko drew attention to this during a meeting with the deputies of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly from the Minsk region, the leadership of the central region. Governor Alexander Turchin took part in the open dialogue.
According to Igor Sergeyenko, the results of the telephone survey once again confirmed the authority and reputation of the Minsk region: 75% of the population trusts the deputies, including the deputies of the House of Representatives.
He cited such a large topic as the consideration of citizens’ appeals and applications as an example.
Igor Sergeenko’s meeting with deputies and the leadership of the Minsk region took place at the Slutsk Sugar Refinery. The Chairman of the House of Representatives said that the enterprise occupies a strong position:
The Chairman of the House of Representatives also noted the contribution of the Minsk region to the country’s economy. The central region forms 20% of the total GDP of Belarus. The Minsk region accounts for 26% of agricultural output and almost 22% of industry.
Igor Sergeenko also announced an upcoming conversation with the Minsk region’s activists, which will take place in early December. The meeting plans to discuss methods and forms of work with the population.
