The Contribution of Veterans from the Minsk Region to the Collective Harvest

The Chairman of the Nesvizh District Council of Veterans, Gennady Viktorovich Pashkovsky, and the Council’s Executive Secretary, Leokadiya Petrovna Churak, went out into the field to meet with labour veterans — a family crew of combine-operator brothers — and congratulate them on harvesting more than one thousand tonnes of grain (1,486.5 tonnes).

The senior combine operator, Alexander Adolfovich Platun, born in 1957, has worked at the enterprise for forty-eight years and has been driving a Lexion 550 combine harvester for twenty-two years. As Alexander Adolfovich noted: “As long as my health allows it, I work. Every year, I take part in the harvest.”

“The work that Fadei Adolfovich, my own brother born in 1960, and I do is responsible. But when you go out into the field in the morning, especially when the weather is favourable, the work feels more pleasant and enjoyable. You look around and rejoice at every harvested ear of grain. After all, if there is a good harvest, there will always be bread on the table.”
