It is now official. Lukashenko has signed Decree No. 1 declaring the Year of the Belarusian Woman
President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko signed Decree No. 1, declaring 2026 the Year of the Belarusian Woman. This was reported to BELTA by the press service of the Belarusian leader.
The document was adopted to shape the national image of the working woman and promote the role of women in preserving and developing society.
The government, with the participation of regional executive committees and the Minsk City Executive Committee, has been instructed to develop and approve a national plan of events for the Year of the Belarusian Woman in 2026. The government will also coordinate the activities of state bodies and other organisations in implementing this plan.
The Decree enters into force after its official publication.
