Lukashenko administered the oath of office to judges of the Constitutional and Supreme Courts
Chairman of the Belarusian People’s Congress and President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko administered the oath to judges of the Constitutional Court and the Supreme Court, BELTA’s correspondent reports.

Supreme Court Chairman Andrei Shved, who was elected to this position in December 2025 at a meeting of the Belarusian People’s Congress, took the oath. “Upon assuming the office of judge, I solemnly swear before the people of the Republic of Belarus to perform my duties honestly and conscientiously, to administer justice while being guided only by the Constitution of the Republic of Belarus, and to be impartial and fair, as required by my duty as a judge,” the oath reads.
Sergei Sivets, elected Chairman of the Constitutional Court, also took the oath, assuming the obligation to honestly, conscientiously, and impartially defend the constitutional order and the supremacy of the Constitution of the Republic of Belarus.
Newly elected Constitutional Court judges Pavel Gridyushko, Alexander Karavai, Andrei Kovalchuk, Tatyana Protashchik, and Elena Semashko took a similar oath.
After the oath-taking ceremony, Alexander Lukashenko presented the judges with certificates and gift copies of the Constitution of Belarus.
“Remember, I said — and you, as legal professionals, will understand me — that we cannot write everything into laws. But we have one spirit, foundation, and basis: justice. And this concerns you above all. Be fair to our people, to our nation. I wish you happiness and good health; may you live long and act for the benefit of your country and our people,” the head of state addressed the judges. “You can see the turbulence in the world, which I warned you about long ago. In this situation, we must be careful, calm, and not rush. And much will depend on you — the judges: the chairpersons of our courts and the judges of the Constitutional Court. Very much will depend on you. Therefore, keep this in mind, appreciate it, and safeguard the country.”
