Lukashenko set a new benchmark for the harvest and explained what would help secure a record crop
During a working trip to Brest, President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko outlined key tasks for agricultural workers during the harvest campaign.
According to the head of state, this season it is necessary to ensure a harvest no lower than last year’s level.
— We now need to bring in the grain. Overall, across the country, the harvest should be no lower than last year’s level. If you deliver 12 million tonnes, that will be a great achievement, Alexander Lukashenko stressed.
The President paid particular attention to compliance with labour and technological discipline, noting that the outcome of the work largely depends on it.
According to him, Belarusians are capable of achieving high results if discipline is observed at all levels.
— We can do anything if there is discipline. Where the President has visited, things are good. But I cannot be everywhere, the head of state remarked.
Alexander Lukashenko stressed that success in agriculture directly depends on organisation and responsibility.
— We must instil discipline in our people. If there is discipline, we can do anything, the President stated.
